Architecture and I go back a long way: I’ve worked for architects, I’ve collaborated with architects, I’ve employed them from time-to-time. I even taught them for a couple of years (at the The Architectural Association, London).
I love getting involved with the concept design and I like seeing a project through from beginning to end, but I also don’t mind drawing up other people’s ideas. Increasingly this means working with 3D computer models, which really help clients (in particular) appreciate the spaces we are creating for them.
Fully rendered CAD (Computer Aided Design) images have become an integral part of the tender process in many retail environments. The level of detail in the CAD files can be increased or decreased to suit the project (and budget), and the files can also be fed into in the 3D printing process to produce complex yet cost effective physical models.
